In the middle and late Ming Dynasty (about 1568 AD), the tea master named Jiang first cultivated and produced the black tea. This initial black tea is Lapsang Souchong. And the tea master is the ancestor of Zheng Shan Tang.
In 1997, Mr Yuanxun Jiang, the 24th generation inheritor of Lapsang Souchong Black Tea established Yuanxun Tea Company. In 2022, he founded Fujian Wuyishan National Nature Reserve Zhengshan Tea Pty Ltd, and after that, Zheng Shan Tang was established.
The company is located in Miao Wan, National Nature Reserve Tong Mu village, Xing Cun Town, Wuyi City, Fujian province, China. This is the core area of the world’s cultural and natural heritage. It has the largest and best-preserved mid-subtropical forest ecosystem compared with other places at the same altitude all over the world. It is also the birthplace of the ancestor of the original black tea – Lapsang Souchong.
In 2012, Zheng Shan Tang was the only enterprise that participated in the drafting and formulation of the national standard for black tea (Part III). In 2015, Zheng Shan Tang was the only enterprise led the formulation of the industry standard of Jin Jun Mei (Golden Horse Eyebrow) Black Tea. In 2018, the company took the lead in drafting and formulating the cross-provincial and national Jin Jun Mei (Golden Horse Eyebrow) Black tea group standard.
In 2005, under the suggestion of a friend, Mr Yuanxun Jiang led the team to develop a high-end black tea-Jin Jun Mei (Golden Horse Eyebrow) through innovation and integration based on the black tea culture and production skills that have been inherited for more than 400 years.
The founding of Jin Jun Meifilled the gap in the high-end black tea market triggered a domestic black tea consumption and promoted the development of the entire black tea industry.
The founding of Jin Jun Mei is an overall innovation in black tea production technology, drinking requirements, and professional identification. It has completely changed the characteristics of traditional black tea which are strong, red, bitter and astringent, making black tea enter a new level of development.
Nowadays, Zheng Shan Tang is no-doubt the No.1 Black Tea Company.
